使い分け（る） use (different things) for different purposes; e.g., use different brushes for painting different colors

塗り分け（る） paint in different colors (for different purposes)

見分ける tell apart/differentiate (both figuratively and visually); to know the difference between something of superior and inferior quality (on sight or figuratively)

聞き分ける tell apart by sound (Caution: 聞き分け also has other meanings; specifically, to behave properly (as a child), as "to do what one is are told")
